LG LT1000P water filter: which fridges use it, and which knockoffs are actually certified

LG's LT1000P (6 months / 200 gallons): the 45 fridge models on LG's chart, LG's NSF claim, and what NSF's public listings show for LT1000P-style aftermarket filters. Some variants from the same brand are certified to very different standards.

The short answer

  • LG sells the LT1000P under several part numbers: ADQ74793501, AGF80300704, AGF80300705, ADQ74793507 and AGF80300703. It is rated for 6 months / 200 gallons [S1].
  • LG says it is "Tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42, 53, 401 to reduce 25 potentially harmful substances" [S2]. In our search of NSF's public listings we could not find LG's own LT1000P entry (details below). Unverified
  • Several aftermarket LT1000P-style filters are in NSF's listings. But variants sold by the same brand are certified to very different standards, so check the exact model number [S5].

Fridge models on LG's chart

LG's model-to-filter chart lists these 45 base model numbers for the LT1000P [S3]. The chart comes from LG Canada and is dated November 2023, and US models can carry extra suffix letters. Before you buy, confirm your full model number in LG's own Water & Air Filter Finder [S7].

Don't assume a fit from a model number that merely looks similar. LG's same chart assigns other filters (LT500P, LT600P, LT700P, LT800P) to closely related model numbers [S3].

Certification: LG's claim vs. what we found

LG's claim: certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401 [S2]. LG's US page says only "NSF-certified LG filters that reduce contaminants" [S1].

What we found on October 21, 2026:

  • Searching NSF for the trade name LT1000P returned only aftermarket filters from Qingdao Ecopure Filter Co. We did not see an LG entry [S5].
  • Searching NSF for the company LG Electronics returned LG filters LT500P, LT600P and LT800P, but not LT1000P [S6].

LG's listing may simply sit under a part or model number we didn't try. Until we find it, we mark LG's certification claim as unverified. Unverified

Aftermarket LT1000P-style filters in NSF's listings

The NSF search for "LT1000P" shows LT1000P-style aftermarket filters (manufacturer: Qingdao Ecopure Filter Co., Ltd.). Look at how much the standards differ within the same brand [S5]:

Brand / model (as listed by NSF) NSF/ANSI 42 (taste, odor, chlorine) NSF/ANSI 53 (health effects, e.g. lead, cysts) NSF/ANSI 401 (emerging contaminants)

We read this table off NSF's search results on October 21, 2026 [S5]. NSF updates its listings daily, so open the live record before buying. The listing says nothing about whether a filter fits your fridge. It only covers what the filter is certified to reduce.

How to replace it (LG's steps)

From LG's US support article [S4]:

  1. Close the water supply valve (some models don't require this; check your manual) and press the dispenser paddle to drain the line. Put a towel or cup under the filter.
  2. LT1000P: open the doors, remove the bottom door bin, grab the bottom of the old filter and turn it counterclockwise to remove it. LG notes that on some models the filter comes out the same way as the LT700P instead.
  3. Remove the cap from the new filter, line up the tabs with the slots, push it in fully and turn it clockwise until the lock mark lines up with the reference line.
  4. Open the valve slowly and check for leaks. Then dispense about 2.5 gallons (9.5 L): 30 seconds on, 60 seconds off, for 5 minutes in total.

How to reset the filter light

Press and hold the Water Filter or Filter Reset button on the control panel for 3 seconds. LG says the reset is done when you hear a chime or the indicator turns off [S4]. LG also says to check the filter sooner if water dispenses slowly or the replacement indicator comes on [S4].
